Uzbekistan values traditional friendly relations with Vietnam

VTV.vn - Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia and Uzbekistan Ngo Duc Manh and 11 ambassadors of other countries presented their credentials to Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov at the headquarters of the Uzbek Embassy in Moscow, Russia.

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Uzbek Foreign Minister arrived in Moscow to receive credentials instead of letting the ambassadors travel to the Uzbek capital of Tashkent.

Speaking at the ceremony, Kamilov congratulated the ambassadors on their appointment, briefing them about Uzbekistan’s development in recent times.

He stated that Uzbekistan has attained remarkable achievements in socio-economic development, while fostering friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with neighbouring countries and other foreign partners.

Touching upon ties with Vietnam, the minister spoke highly of the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries, voicing his wish to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of agriculture and light industry.

Uzbekistan sees Vietnam as an important partner and a bridge connecting Uzbekistan with Southeast Asian nations, he affirmed.

In an interview granted to the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan after the credentials-presenting ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador Ngo Duc Manh recalled his fine impressions and feelings for the land and hospitable people of Uzbekistan when he was still a student.

Highlighting the fine long-standing friendly relations between Vietnam and Uzbekistan, he recommended that the two countries strengthen the exchange of delegations at all level and further enhance economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchange.

The diplomat expressed his gratitude for the effective cooperation of the Uzbek Embassy in Moscow in working together to accelerate Vietnam-Uzbekistan multifaceted ties.
