He made the comments to reporters in Washington, saying that the US was concerned by the flights as well as all of these activities being conducted by the Chinese in disputed islands in the East Sea. He added that the US raised tensions over the disputed islands, militarisation or reclamation activities in these islands, would only add to instability in the East Sea. Cook said the US wanted a diplomatic resolution to the issues in the East Sea.
