Furious 7 has continued to be a blockbuster when triumphing in various awards ceremony. At People’s Choice Awards 2016, Furious 7 won Favorite Movie and Favorite Action Movie.
On collecting the award, actor Vin Diesel made everyone emotional when mentioning his late friend and co-star Paul Walker.
“We have the best cast in the world,” Diesel said. “Universal has been so supportive. They asked me to be a producer 10 years ago, and they’ve supported me all along as I kinda crazily told them we could get to Fast 10 with our cast and with a true story and with integrity and with a multi-cultural theme and a multi-cultural family.”
Diesel continued: "You know, as I was coming up here, I always do this,” he said. “I say ‘I'm not going to get emotional about, you know, winning these awards’. And I was cool when I was sitting in my seat, and then they handed me two awards.”
“So I think of Dom and Brian, and I start to think of Paul,” Diesel continued as the crowd applauded in honor of the late Paul Walker “My only message to you is you’d be amazed at what you can do with love. You’d be amazed at how powerful a force that is. When we didn’t want to come back to filming when the tragedy was too heavy, it was the love of everyone combined that saw us through to the end, and now I’m standing here with all of you telling me this was your favorite film of the year. I wanna thank the People’s Choice Awards. It’s real people that are voting for these awards. It’s just pure fans saying how much they appreciate our work and that means the world to me. And I thank you so much, and the only thing I can say now is…”
To close the speech, Vin Diesel sang See You Again – the soundtrack of Furious 7 – to pay a tribute to Paul Walker, which made the audience touched.
