Co-organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and other related agencies, the event was part of the sixth Assembly of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) that opened in the central city of Da Nang on June 23rd.
It will run until June 29th. Circulation within the economy emphasizes a closed economy where waste is utilized and recycled to its maximum potential. UNIDO has been working with Vietnam in the past 3 years and has introduced pilot projects of eco-industrial parks in Da Nang, Ninh Binh and Can Tho. According to UNIDO, after 3 years of testing, 72 enterprises in industrial parks in Da Nang, Can Tho and Ninh Binh have been able to save more than 8.7 million USD thanks to reducing and reusing waste and maximizing energy usage.
