The working trip to Truong Sa served as a meaningful journey of solidarity between the military and civilians. It offered each member of the VTV delegation a chance to reflect on their political responsibilities and foster a stronger love for their homeland. It also deepened their pride in Vietnam’s sovereignty over its seas and islands.
Throughout the seven-day journey, the VTV delegation gave practical and heartfelt gifts to the officers, soldiers, and residents stationed on the key islands of Song Tu Tay, Sinh Ton, Da Tay A, Da Dong B, Co Lin, Truong Sa, and DKI/18. At each destination, the delegation organized many meaningful activities, including a flag-raising ceremony on Truong Sa Island, incense offerings at the Martyrs Monument and the Memorial House of President Ho Chi Minh in Truong Sa town, a memorial ceremony honoring fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for national sovereignty over the sea and islands, and visits to cultural and spiritual landmarks on the islands.
In addition to these visits and gifts, the VTV delegation actively participated in activities organized by Delegation No. 20, including a flower arranging contest, a quiz about Vietnam’s maritime and island territories, and cultural performances. Notably, VTV won first prize in the flower arranging contest themed “Truong Sa – the Sailors and the Sea”. Their silk bouquets, crafted with skill and care, conveyed heartfelt wishes for peace and symbolized the enduring connection between mainland Vietnam and its islands.
Before departing the island for the mainland, the delegation was greeted at the pier by Truong Sa’s soldiers and civilians, who sang powerful farewell songs. These emotional moments were etched into the memory of every delegate with waves, tears, and silent promises etched into the memory of every delegate. As the ship pulled away, a collective voice rang out: “Truong Sa for the Fatherland. The Fatherland for Truong Sa”. It was more than just a slogan—it was a solemn pledge, a vow that was carved into the hearts of all who took part and will be remembered forever.
