Tropical depression strengthens

VTV.vn - A tropical depression will likely strengthen into a storm and return to the Gulf of Tonkin, causing bad weather for Vietnam in the coming days.

As of 1 pm Sunday local time, the tropical depression was located in the southern waters of Guangdong Province - China. In the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will likely head east and strengthen into a storm. In the next 24 to 48 hours the storm is forecast to head towards the Gulf of Tonkin. Scattered rain is forecast on Tuesday and Wednesday in the northern region. Heavy rain is expected to hit the northern and northern central region from Wednesday night. Warnings of flooding and landslides have also been issued to a number of northern localities.
