This morning, the tropical depression was 400 km away from the Paracel Islands. In the next 24 hours, it is forecast to increase its speed and by 7 am tomorrow morning, the tropical depression should be 300- 350 km east of the Paracel Islands. The tropical depression will cause level 8 winds and wave heights of 2-4m. To cope with the tropical depression, the Standing Office of the Central Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention requests localities to update the progress of the tropical storm, keep close contact with fishing vessel owners, prepare rescue forces, and deploy rescue activities when needed.
