According to the Hồ Chí Minh City Department of Finance, as of January 1st, only 26 of 49 transport units in the city have publicized their decrease in fees.
According to the Hanoi Department of Finance, only 7 of 200 transport companies in Hanoi reduced their fees one week after the oil price dropped. The Hanoi Transport Association says that the price of fuel only accounts for 20 - 30 percent of transport fees.
Since January 1st, other expenses have increased, making it hard for companies to reduce their fees, the association added. Complex administrative procedures also create difficulties in fee adjustments.
