At the event, experts identified problems associated with the traditional distribution model and proposed solutions to integrate Vietnamese brands into major distribution channels.
Many enterprises attending the conference expressed the need for government support on regulatory procedures and documentation. At the moment, most Vietnamese producers have to individually engage with distribution chains themselves. Representatives proposed more collective efforts involving all relevant authorities. Success in penetrating international retail chains is also success in exporting Vietnamese goods. As of the end of 2016, Vietnam has 170 foreign-invested retail firms.
