Most of all 300 frequently-active fishing vessels in Phù Cát District, Bình Định province have been using Metal Halide lighting system and incandescent lamps. However, only 25% of the light is effective in fishing.
With the old lighting system, fishermen would spend nearly 2,200USD for every 20-day fishing trip and emit about 300kg of Carbon dioxide. The new LED system can last nearly seven times longer than the previous lighting system, and requires lower power capacity, while achieving more effective results.
