TPP countries push ahead with negotiations in Australia
VTV.vn - Senior officials from the remaining 11 countries involved in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) concluded a meeting, which took place in Australia from August 28-30, to discuss measures to bring the agreement into effect as soon as possible

According to Japan's chief trade negotiator Kazuyoshi Umemoto, delegates at the meeting have agreed to resume discussions in Japan in September, with the hope of reaching a final agreement on the TPP before the APEC Economic Leaders' Week takes place in Vietnam in November.

The TPP was signed in February 2016 by Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, the United States and Vietnam. However, it would need adjustments to come into effect due to the withdrawal of the United States, which would have accounted for 60% of the trade agreement's GDP.
