The Debaters - A brand new English speech competition for high school students on VTV7

The Debaters is a television program about debating in English by VTV7 channel for high school students. Not only helping students practice critical thinking and the ability to present social and educational issues as well as express their concerns about school life in many different perspectives, it is also an opportunity for teenagers to make friends with many other high school students of the same age.

In particular, joining The Debaters, the teenagers will have to present their ideas entirely in English. This will be both an opportunity and a challenge for students who are passionate about English and oratory.

The Debaters will be held in the form of a knockout contest. The 12 best teams selected from the Selection round will be drawn to be divided into two groups: Group A and Group B.

Six teams of each group will play head to head against each other. At the end of the group stage, there will be 6 winning teams entering the quarterfinals.

In particular, the team with the highest score of each group will automatically qualify for the semifinals. In the quarterfinals, four teams will compete head to head to win the chance to enter the semifinals. The team that wins the final will win a place in the 2020 World Speech Championship - Asia Region.
