China had previously asked the WTO to allow tariffs on more than $7 billion on US goods. However, the WTO arbitration panel estimated that the number of losses China will suffer each year due to the US' imposition of anti-dumping duties is only half of Beijing's estimation.
Washington argues that the WTO does not base its judgment on economic analysis.
