VTV.vn - In the ancient city of Hội An in Quảng Nam province you can now enjoy Thai specialities at the Thai Food and Culture Festival which was launched last night.

The event lasts from March 9-11 and features a variety of activities that aim to promote Thai cuisine to the local people and tourists.

The event also hopes to contribute to the relationship between Vietnam and Thailand. Popular Thai foods including Pad Thai and Tom Yum Kung are being introduced to visitors in Hoi An.

This is the first time the Thai Food Festival has taken place in Hoi An.

Hoi An was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999 and since then has made its mark as the culinary destination of Vietnam.

The town is often cited in international readers polls, magazines, and travel pages as one of 10 best places to eat in the world. Hoi An’s traditional foods rank 6th on TripAdvisor and, according to Lonely Planet, Hoi An’s market is known as the “food capital of Vietnam” amongst both domestic and foreign tourists.
