The New Zealand government and its universities and education centres offer favourable support policies for international students.
Phuong Anh is a graduate from Massey University in New Zealand. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Marketing and finance. After 4 years of studying and living in New Zealand, what impressed her most was the support she received from the university and the government of New Zealand.
Nguyen Thi Phuong Anh, New Zealand University Graduate said: When I first arrived, I received support from the university. They knew that I was a new student and didn't have any friends, so they held networking events so that international students like me could mingle with the locals. This helped me gain friends and practice my English.
Phuong Anh is one out of 2000 vietnamese students that have received support while working and living in New Zealand. New Zealand is also the first country in the world to provide international students with Sponsorship and Care packages, which specific requirements that international students must comply with.
Wendy Matthews New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam said: In emergency cases such as earthquakes or storms, the university can warn students as well as inform their families of their conditions. The university is ready to support them if needed.
