VTV.vn - Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau, a 22-year-old student of Ton Duc Thang University in HCMC, last Sunday won the 7th season of Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2016.

The native of Tay Ninh Province defeated four other rivals – La Thanh Thanh, Huy Quang, Minh Phong and Thuy Trang – in the two final challenges of parading on a catwalk and posing for photos in a box. She got a grand prize of VND1 billion, plus the opportunity to appear on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar magazine and open Vietnam’s International Fashion Week Fall-Winter season in Hanoi from November 1 to 6.

She was praised for her beautiful face and body. Though Chau is 1.74 meters tall, she is the shortest among the winners of the contest.

Chau said she wanted to become a model as successful as supermodel Thanh Hang, the host of Vietnam’s Next Top Model, and show up on international catwalks just like previous contest winners.

Chau, who was born into a poor family, is known as the most diligent and self-motivated contestant of Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2016.

The final night featured performances by pop star Hoang Thuy Linh and Vietnam’s Idol winner in 2015 Trong Hieu, and two latest collections by Nguyen Tien Truyen and Hoang Minh Ha, the respective winners of Project Runway Vietnam in 2015 and 2013.
