By 5 pm on Thursday, heavy rainfall and thunderstorms had left one dead and blown away the roofs of 100 houses and schools.
Five houses collapsed and seven hectares of rice were damaged in the districts of Xín Mần, Quản Bá and Yên Minh. It is expected that the storm will continue for several days. Warnings of flash floods and landslides were issued.
