VTV.vn - As part of his state visit to Italy, State President Tran Dai Quang met with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi on November 23.

At the meeting, the two leaders agreed to boost cooperation in politics, business, defense, science and culture. The two sides also agreed to support each other on multilateral forums such as the UN, ASEAN-EU, ASEAM and UNESCO. Regarding disputes in the East Sea, the two countries stressed that disputes needed to be resolved with peaceful methods and in accordance with international law. At the end of the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the hand-over of documents signed during State President Tran Dai Quang's visit, including an implementation plan for the strategic partnership for the 2017-2018, an MOU on transportation, agreement between Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and Italy's National Research Council.

On Thursday afternoon, Italian President Sergio Mattarella hosted the farewell  ceremony for State President Tran Dai Quang and Vietnamese delegation which left Rome for Milan.
