Early this morning, the search team has found an object suspected to belong to the missing CASA 212 aircraft. The command post immediately sent out forces and modern devices to identify the object. The turbine of CASA 212 was found at 9:30 this morning, June 23rd.
The search team has continued to access the debris suspected to be a part of the missing aircraft and have prepared to retrieve the bodies of its crew members if found within the aircraft. Deputy Prime Minister Trịnh Đình Dũng was on site to lead the search. He has commended the efforts of the search and rescue team and has requested the continuance of searching for the missing crew members and the CASA 212 and Su-30 MK2 aircrafts.
Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung said: The prime minister and I highly appreciate the efforts of the soldiers and fishermen involved in the search. Vietnamese people throughout the country are closely watching updates on the search and rescue of the missing crew members and aircrafts. And it is also our priority. We will try to find out the cause of these accidents as soon as possible and work out measures to mitigate the consequences.
On Wednesday, 12.5 nautical miles to the southeast of Hòn Mắt Island, Nghệ An Province, two fishing boats found objects including a piece of metal measuring 15 centimetres by 30 centimetres. However, its origin is still unknown. Search and rescue teams are trying their best to find the missing crew members and retrieve the CASA 212 aircraft.
