This is the third year that the two festivals have been held to offer entertainment activities for the locals and tourists during Tet holidays.
A wide range of cultural and art activities of ethnic minority groups of the Northwestern region are being performed at the Sapa National Tourism site and Fansipan Mountain during the first days of the Lunar New Year.
The Khen festival sees the competition of six groups, including both professional and amateur artists from Sapa and guests from Northern provinces of Yen Bai, Lai Chau and Dien Bien.
Alongside cultural activities of the Northwestern region, tourists are also offered with spiritual activities at the spiritual complex on Mount Fansipan, which is considered the roof of the country.
The month-long festival will run until March 8, 2019.
