The workshop gave an overview of traffic issues in Vietnam as well as in the world and provides solutions for smart technology applications. Statistics at the event showed that in Vietnam, on average, there were 35 major incidents each day, killing 22 and injuring some 30 people on average. The main cause is the lack of transportation infrastructure and advanced traffic control. The experience of some countries shows that an intelligent transport system needs to be developed in a consistent manner with the involvement of Government and relevant ministries. There should be specific standards for intelligent traffic along with the development of transport infrastructure and smart applications. The workshop also discusses intelligent traffic forecasting solutions, the deployment of automated toll collection systems, and artificial intelligence applications to reduce congestion and traffic accidents. The workshop will continue until the end of October 25.
