Shrimp prices decrease due to global overproduction
VTV.vn - For the last month, production of thousands of white shrimp farmers in the Mekong Delta has slowed down.

This is due to the price of shrimp decreasing to around 3 to 4 USD per kilo depending on the shrimp's size. This is 1/3 lower than the same period last year.

These issues require immediate solutions. In the long run, localities need to balance farming areas between white shrimp and prawn. Currently, the white shrimp farming area has increased several times compared to the area allotted for tiger shrimp farming in the Mekong Delta.
