Four Bulava ballistic missiles from the designated area in the White Sea were fired to targets at the Kura range on the Kamchatka Peninsula in far eastern Russia. The Russian Navy says this is the first time the Yury Dolgorukiy has launched this number of missiles in a salvo.
The Yury Dolgoruky is a 14,720-tonne craft from the fourth-generation Borei class of strategic submarines. It was built to carry the Bulavas, which are intercontinental nuclear-capable missiles.
