Lee was indicted on 16 charges including bribery, abuse of power, embezzlement and the violations of other laws. Lee denied most of the charges against him. He only admitted to receiving an off-book fund from the National Intelligence Service via one of his presidential aides. He also admitted to spending 6.7 billion won to remodel his house, but insisted the money was borrowed.
