The Cabinet's agenda includes deliberating on making changes and improvements to existing policies; reviewing projects and programmes from the previous administration; and fulfilling promises made in Pakatan Harapan's manifesto. In the meeting, Mahathir announced a 10- percent pay cut for ministers in his cabinet in order to reduce the government's debt, which is in excess of 250 billion US dollars.
The number of civil servants will also be reduced to cut government spending. Mahathir also added that he will review large-scale infrastructure projects sponsored by the old government.
