Severe damage in central provinces

Over the last 3 days, heavy rains ranging from 300-500mm, and sometimes up to 700mm, have caused tens of thousands of houses to be submerged in water. Thousands of households in Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Binh Dinh had to evacuate overnight. Rain and floods also caused thousands of hectares of rice and crops to get flooded. They also washed away tens of thousands of cattle and poultry and damaged hundreds of hectares of aquaculture farming. Landslides occurred on many roads, especially in coastal and mountainous areas. Rain has stopped in many localities, however, water has been receding very slowly and many areas are still under water.
