The 10-episode documentary series Vietnam’s Historical Decodings, produced by Vietnam Television (VTV), returns to VTV1 starting today (April 21, 2025).
The series was created to preserve key events in Vietnam’s military history, honor and respect the sacrifices of past generations, and deepen the understanding of the value of peace. Above all, the series aims to analyze and explore Vietnam's military strategies and decipher historical operations that remain classified or little known to the public. Vietnam’s Historical Decodings is regarded as a televised museum of Vietnam's military strategies and tactics. At the same time, it serves as a major project to collect valuable archival materials – including moving images, photographs, and personal accounts – documenting a prolonged period of warfare in Vietnam's history.
Vietnam’s military strategies and tactics will be gradually unraveled with each episode. Each installment will delve into pivotal battles and campaigns during Vietnam’s wars against the French and the Americans, such as 1954 – Memories of Dien Bien Phu, The Dak To Campaign, and The Battle of Kon Tum 1972.
Besides watching the 10 episodes of Vietnam’s Historical Decodings airing at 7:30 AM from April 21 to April 30 on VTV1, viewers can also watch the episodes.
