VTV.vn - Silat champion, Shakir Juanda, along with other Singapore athletes, appear in the music video for the SEA Games song Unbreakable, sung by Tabitha Nauser.

Southeast Asian (SEA) Games organisers are using music to drum up support among Singaporeans. The music video for Unbreakable, a song from the SEA Games album, has already garnered more than 100,000 views since it was uploaded on YouTube on Apr 9.

2012 silat world champion Shakir Juanda, along with other Singapore athletes, appear in the music video for the song

"It's quite interesting. This is my first time ever doing a music video for the SEA Games, and it's also being held in Singapore, so I feel proud of it," he said.

The song is one of 14 tracks on the Songs of the Games album, which is the official soundtrack for the 2015 SEA Games. Sung by Tabitha Nauser, it is about the moment when someone feels like quitting.

Shakir said the song is inspirational to him, especially since he picked up a knee injury recently. The 2013 SEA Games bronze medallist is expected to recover fully before June.

"When I hear the song and also watch the video clip, it gives me some motivation and encouragement,” he said. “Everyone is supporting you from behind and you are not alone."

The song is not just meant to inspire the athletes, but also the common man. Amir Masoh, who wrote the song, said everyone can relate to Unbreakable.

"The thing that I find sometimes, when I watch sporting events like SEA Games or Olympics or whatever, we tend to feel a bit detached. 'Yeah sportsmen, train all their lives, sure they could do that',” said Amir. “But then we mere mortals will look at it and go 'Yeah, I'll just stick to my day job’, but without realising there are a lot of parallels in the struggles.

"There's a lot of parallels in the success and the failures - whether you're in sports or not. I think that's one of the messages that I want to put across."
