The Saudi Press Agency said "The discussions between Jamal Khashoggi and those he met at the kingdom's consulate in Istanbul devolved into a fistfight, leading to his death."
Two senior officials connected to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have been fired. US President Donald Trump told reporters he thought the explanation from the Saudi foreign ministry of Khashoggi's death was "credible". US President also emphasized the importance of US and Saudi Arabia relations.
Journalist Khashoggi has disappeared since he entered the Saudi embassy on October 2 to pick up paperwork he needs in order to get married.
