The weekly contest featured four competitors: Nguyen Ha Binh from Tan Lac High School, Phu Tho province; Truong Viet Duy Chuong from Thua Luu High School, Hue city; Chu Minh Hoa from Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Ho Chi Minh City; and Can Minh Vi from Thach That High School, Hanoi.
Ha Binh got off to a strong start in the Individual Warm-up round achieving 50 points. He was followed by Duy Chuong with 40 points, Minh Vi with 30 and Minh Hoa with 10. In the General Warm-up round, all four contestants raced to answer as quickly as possible, but Ha Binh maintained his momentum with a series of correct responses. He finished the round on 85 points, while Minh Hoa remained on 10.
In the Overcome Obstacle round, the contestants had to identify a five-letter keyword. Ha Binh selected the first horizontal clue and, in a surprising move, buzzed in to solve the obstacle before any puzzle pieces had been revealed. However, he failed to answer when the bell rang and was therefore eliminated from the remainder of the round.
The opportunity then passed to the other three contestants. As soon as the first puzzle piece was revealed, Duy Chuong’s correct response propelled him into the lead with 120 points.
The Speed-up round gave the contestants a crucial opportunity to increase their scores. Ha Binh aimed for 80 points, while Duy Chuong and Minh Hoa also aimed to minimize mistakes and answer as many questions correctly as possible. All four contestants answered the first question correctly, with Minh Hoa responding fastest to earn 40 points. No one scored on the second question. On the third question, which was about mathematics, only Minh Vi and Ha Binh picked up points. Minh Hoa again earned 40 points on the final question with the fastest correct answer. At the end of the Speed-up round, Duy Chuong led with 180 , followed by Ha Binh with 145 points, Minh Vi with 115 and Minh Hoa with 100.
As the leader, Duy Chuong was the first to answer in the Finish round and selected three 20-point questions. However, the Hue student failed to answer any of them correctly and lost 40 points to Minh Hoa, ending his turn on 140 points.
Ha Binh then chose a 20-30-20-point package. He answered both 20-point questions correctly and moved into the lead with 185 points.
Minh Hoa selected the same package as Ha Binh but was unable to capitalise on his opportunity, finishing the round with 140 points.
Minh Vi opted for a 20-20-30-point package. After answering her second question, she had 135 points. At that stage, the highest runner-up score required to qualify for the monthly contest was also 135, putting Minh Vi, Minh Hoa and Duy Chuong all in contention for the remaining place. When the final question was asked, Minh Hoa rang the bell but answered incorrectly, enabling Duy Chuong to secure the ticket.
After all four rounds, Ha Binh and Duy Chuong secured the final two places in the monthly competition. Ha Binh won the laurel wreath with 185 points, while Duy Chuong finished second with 140.
