The Week 2 - Month 2 - Quarter 4 competition of Road to Olympia Mount was an intense race between four contestants: Ngo Hoang Thinh from Nguyen Thien Thanh High School for the Gifted Tra Vinh, Nguyen Thang Long from Chu Van An High School Thai Binh, Tran Ngoc Nhat Minh from Hanoi Amsterdam High School for the Gifted Hanoi, and Nguyen Doan Hoang Manh from Nguyen Sy Sach High School Nghe An. The contestants’ first goal was to beat the second highest score of 195.
In the Individual Warm-up round, all contestants aimed to score 60 points. Hoang Thinh, Thang Long, and Nhat Minh succeeded, while Hoang Manh was close behind with 40 points.
The 12-question General Warm-up round began with the contestants ringing the bell rapidly, heightening the tension. By the end, the scores were incredibly close. Hoang Manh led with 70 points, Nhat Minh followed closely with 65, Hoang Thinh with 60, and Thang Long with 55.
The keyword for today's Overcome Obstacle round was a four-letter word. None of the contestants could answer the first question, so the image remained undisclosed. For the second question, all contestants answered "Cong an" (police), which was incorrect. It not until third question that Thang Long, Nhat Minh, and Hoang Manh earned an additional 10 points.
At this point, Nhat Minh, Hoang Manh, and Hoang Thinh took turns attempting to solve the obstacle, guessing "Mang" (network), "Nhin" (vision), and "Luat" (law), but all were wrong. Thang Long was the only one left who tried to answer the last question correctly, earning 10 more points. However, he was unable to solve the keyword. The audience quickly figured out the correct answer: CCTV.
The scores were now as follows: Thang Long led with 85 points, Hoang Manh with 80, Nhat Minh with 75, and Hoang Thinh with 60.
The Speed-up round, a highly competitive segment, offered contestants the opportunity to either close the gap or surge ahead. In the first question, all four contestants scored points, but Hoang Manh answered the quickest, earning 40 points. In the second question, only Nhat Minh and Thang Long scored points. As the round progressed, the competition intensified, with Nhat Minh 's experience as a Math Olympiad champion giving him an edge .
At the end of the Speed round, the scores changed dramatically. Nhat Minh took the lead with 225 points, Hoang Manh with 170, Hoang Thinh with 130, and Thang Long with 125.
Nhat Minh was the first to enter the Finish round, selecting a set of three 20-point questions. He calmly answered the first question correctly, earning 20 points. Though he missed the next two questions, he didn’t lose any points as the other contestants failed to answer them. Nhat Minh finished the round with 245 points.
Hoang Manh, temporarily in second place, chose a set of 20 - 20 - 30-point questions. After failing to answer the first two questions, he decided not to use the Hope Star, which turned out to be a wise choice since he couldn’t provide the correct answers.
Hoang Thinh opted for a safer strategy, selecting three 20-point questions. Although he answered the first question correctly, he needed to be more present, and the points went to Hoang Manh instead. After regaining his composure, Hoang Thinh answered the final two questions correctly, earning 40 points.
Finally, Thang Long chose a set of 20 - 20 - 30-point questions. After missing the first question, he answered the remaining two correctly, finishing with 155 points.
In the end, Nhat Minh took the laurel crown with 245 points. The final scores of the other contestants were: Hoang Manh 180, Thang Long 155, and Hoang Thinh with 140.
