Võ Thị Quỳnh, former teacher at Quốc Học - Huế High school, loves to spend her free time finding materials for her pressed flower pictures. So far, she has made more than 200 pictures from pressed flowers and some of them have been displayed abroad.
At first glance, few people can realise that these pictures are made from countless small leaves and petals. Flowers not only have value when they are fresh, but they still show their vitality when pressed. To maintain their colour and natural shapes from being damaged over time, flowers are soaked in vinegar, wrapped in paper and pressed for 3 months.
Pressing flowers is a fascinating and delightful hobby. The best thing is that people don’t have to be very artistic, the flowers do it all for you, as long as you have the love for nature and a little patience
