Recycling projects benefit local communities

VTV.vn - A typical 400-room hotel generates 3.5 tons of solid soap waste, in addition to 2 to 3 tons of condemned linens including towels, bed covers and cushion covers per annum.

Instead of disposing them in landfills, an initiative to recycle these types of waste and turn them into new products that benefit local people was undertaken by the Centre for Creative Initiatives in Health and Population (CCIHP) and Diversey Corporation.

In this week's edition of Vietnam in Closeup, let's learn more about how these projects benefit local communities in Vietnam.

As Vietnam continues to grow, many international hotels have opened in the country in recent years. This has created more waste, putting increased pressure on the environment. Projects like "Linens for life" and "Soap for Hope" help benefit communities and, at the same time, protect the environment.
