They hope that the 12th Party Congress will choose the best candidates with both talent and morals for the committee that will bring a new impetus to the socio-economic development of the country.
The public in Vietnam are closely following the Party Congress, especially personnel preparation. They hope that the deputies will be clear-headed and responsible when choosing members for the 12th Party Central Committee.
"We hope that as the 1,510 delegates attending the Party Congress represent over 4 million party members, they will keep their heads cool and carefully choose the Central Committee members, as well as a good General Secretary to lead the party and our people to build and protect the country", said Phan Van Do, Chairman, Nghia Do Ward’s Veteran Association, Hanoi.
"We already have many capable candidates. However, to build the Party in the right direction and achieve our goals, the Congress has stressed the importance of finding candidates with good morals", said Hua Thi My Huong, Deputy Chief, Office of District 3 People’s Committee, Ho Chi Minh City.
The public all over Vietnam also hope that this Party Congress will choose candidates that place national interests as the top priority.
"The chosen people must have knowledge, a clear conscience, and must put our national interests first. I wouldn’t trust people who do things for their personal gains. I want a leader that is clever, honest, and will stand up against corruption", said Hoang Tho Kiem, Nghia Do Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi.
"I think that if we choose good candidates, they will be able to assist and train the next generation of officials. I believe we need to be firm and remove unfit people, especially opportunists", said Le Truyen, Former Vice Chairman, Vietnam Fatherland Front’s Central Committee.
Good morality, a healthy lifestyle, and the willingness to sacrifice personal interests for the good of the Party and the Country; these are the requirements for the 12th Central Committee members, as stated by Central Resolution 11. They are also the qualities that the Vietnamese people are looking for in their next leaders.
