Protecting traditional fish sauce

This has helped address recent public confusion about traditional fish sauce ingredients following a controversial survey undertaken by the Viet Nam Standards and Consumers Association (VINASTAS). The ministerial report shows that traditional fish sauce only contains organic arsenic compounds, which are not harmful to humans.

Also in a conference discussing measures to protect and differentiate traditional fish sauce from industrial or derivative fish sauce, the MARD said it would draw up a set of standards and national technical regulations, and advise on product labeling to ensure customers' rights and interests.
