Co-organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia, the Department of Cultural Exchange and UNESCO under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese company INCENTRA, the event was attended by the Vietnamese Ambassador of Russia Ngo Duc Manh, Chairman of the association of former Russian military experts Nikolay Kolesnik, and Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs and UNESCO Tran Quoc Khanh, as well as representatives of the government, the ministry and department, along with numerous Russian friends, the Vietnamese community and Vietnamese students in Russia.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Ngo Duc Manh emphasised that the event is a "highlight" in the series of activities in activities celebrating Vietnam Year in Russia and Russia Year in Vietnam from 2019-2020. The festival introduces the most unique features of the culinary culture to Russian friends.
The Ambassador also expressed his desire that through the "Vietnamese Cultural - Culinary Festival 2019" it will bring a deeper understanding to Russian people about the culture and image of Vietnam and it’s people.
In addition, some traditional cultural features of Vietnam such as tea art, national arts performances, Dong Ho painting, and to he (toy figurines made from glutinous rice powder) were also brought to the festival.
Not only that, visitors to the festival will also have the opportunity to enjoy the photo exhibition "Emotion of Russia" with images of the Vietnamese people’s feelings for Russia.
