SCG and its partners - SCG Cement - Building Materials Vietnam, Binh Minh Plastics and Prime Group have officially participated in Green Building and Green Transportation Week 2025, reaffirming their leadership role in accelerating the country's green building transition towards Net Zero 2050.
“As a long-term partner in Vietnam's sustainable development journey, SCG is proud to contribute to the country's green transition,” said Mr. Supakit Phucharoensilp, Cement Plant Director - Vietnam, representative of SCG. “Through collaboration, innovation, and investment in green technology, we aim to accelerate the construction industry's progress towards Net Zero.”
Vietnam Green Building and Green Transport Week 2025 took place on October 29, 2025 bringing together more than 1,000 delegates from ministries, departments, experts, researchers and businesses, along with more than 30 sponsors and exhibitors and more than 50 media partners. With the theme “Innovation in Sustainable Construction: Promoting Green Building and Transportation Development," the event is a national forum connecting businesses, experts and management agencies to promote the trend of green and sustainable development in the Vietnamese construction industry. This is also an important opportunity for stakeholders to jointly recognize challenges and opportunities and find practical and creative solutions to improve the efficiency and quality of work and transport infrastructure in the future.
The leaders of the Ministry of Construction and the City's leaders, along with SCG representatives, visited its exhibition at the Green Building and Transportation Week Vietnam 2025.
At this year’s event, SCG, SCG Cement - Building Materials, Binh Minh Plastics and PRIME Group clearly demonstrated their pioneering role in creating a sustainable construction future, in line with the Government’s development orientation. Participating in the seminar “Resources and Materials Optimization for Low-Emission Green Building” within the framework of the event, SCG representatives presented their strategic vision and breakthrough solutions, and introduced a chain of green building materials to promote the sustainable development of the Vietnamese construction industry. In addition, the company also shared green innovations in technology, production processes and building materials ecosystems - demonstrating the results of comprehensive solutions, from housing, construction to green living spaces.
SCG and its member companies are currently building a green solution ecosystem starting from production activities. The Group has invested more than 200 million USD to redefine a true “Green Process”: from pioneering the operation of SO₂ emission treatment systems in the ceramic tile industry, Optimizing the use of fly ash and slag in cement production, switching to alternative fuels (biomass, RDF), to installing 40 MW of rooftop solar power and operating a waste heat recovery system. These are concrete actions to optimize energy and resources, bringing real impact. Accordingly, in 2024, three-member companies reduced about 305 thousand tons of CO₂, equivalent to 14 million trees or 20 hectares of forest.
It is the responsible production platform that is the launching pad for a comprehensive “Green Product” portfolio, where sustainability and international quality go hand in hand. These products are not only environmentally friendly but also bring practical value.
The contribution of the company's products to the field of green and sustainable construction has been widely recognized, demonstrated with prestigious certifications and awards from both domestic and international organizations.
“In the future, SCG will continue to steadfastly follow the Government's goal of increasing the proportion of recycled materials to 25% and achieving net zero emissions by 2050, considering this an indispensable part of the ESG 4 Plus strategy and the orientation of Increasing Inclusive Green Growth.” - Mr. Supakit added.
With a strong green value chain, SCG and its partners are committed to continuing to support Vietnam's sustainable development and inspire the next generation of green innovation.
