To proactively overcome the consequences of floods in the central Vietnam and ensure the local people’s safety, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has sent a telegram, requesting Chairman of Thua Thien Hue’s People’s committee and other provinces and cities:
-To guide local people to take crucial measures to ensure safety and limit the damage when floods occur.
-Organize reviews and proactively evacuate people in places at high risk of landslides, flash floods, and deep flooding to safe places.
-Organize a force to guard and control people and vehicles through underground overflows, deeply flooded areas, fast-flowing water, landslides or at risk of landslides, and do not allow people to pass if safety is not guaranteed.
-Based on the actual situation of students being absent from school, implement measures to ensure safety for teachers, students, and educational institutions in flooded areas.
-Proactively implement measures to ensure the safety of dykes, lakes and dams, especially key projects under construction, to minimize damage.
-Organize emergency relief of food and necessities for households at risk area
-Direct the work of quickly overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, cleaning the environment, restoring production and daily activities of the people, and studying of students immediately after the flood recedes.
