According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam exported nearly 75 thousand tons of cinnamon, valued at over 220 million USD, in the first 10 months of this year.
This represents a 19.2% increase in volume but a 1.3% decrease in value compared to the same period last year.
In 2022, Vietnam accounted for 34% of the global supply of cinnamon. The primary export markets for Vietnamese cinnamon are India, the US, and Bangladesh. However, despite its volume advantage, Vietnam lacks a national-level strategic direction for the sustainable development of cinnamon exports, mainly due to a lack of mechanisms for research and timely responses to market requirements.
