The event was also attended by U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, President of the UN General Assembly Peter Thompson and representatives of other countries.
Speaking at the event, PM Phuc highy appreciated the international community's recognition of an independent Vietnam, paving the way for the country's global integration. He stressed that Vietnam highly values its relations with the UN and will work hard to contribute to its peacekeeping efforts. PM Phuc also expressed his hope that Vietnam will receive support in becoming a UN Security Council's non-permanent member in the 2020-2021 term.
