Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the vigorous growth of the two countries' relations in recent years, especially since the establishment of a strategic partnership five years ago. Investments from Singapore have contributed significantly to the growth of Vietnam's socioeconomy. Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc encouraged Singaporean enterprises to keep investing in Vietnam, especially in new, high-tech, high-value and environmentally-friendly areas. Singaporean President Halimah Yacob reiterated that Singapore would support the full implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC).
