This situation has become even more serious with climate change getting more severe each year. In Nậm Păm Commune, Muong La District, Son La province, the number of poor households has not stopped at 42% but has increased as many households have lost everything due to recent natural disasters. Meanwhile, the district has an additional 93 poor households. In the central and southern central regions, unpredicted weather this year has led many households to fall into poverty. The damaged households have been supported by the state and government organisations. However, their livelihoods will be difficult to recover in the long run.
