At the talks following the welcoming ceremony, the two Prime Ministers affirmed their determination to promote bilateral and reliable cooperation in all fields.
Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad also affirmed that Malaysia strongly supports Vietnam's role as ASEAN Chair in 2020 and as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2020 - 2021 term.
