The Vietnamese side is represented by the teams of Kinh Bac - Bac Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Sanet Khanh Hoa, XSKT Vinh Long, VTV Binh Dien Long An, and Vinh Long Television, while the guests include Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia and Hebei (China).
Players are competing in men’s and women’s events on a round-robin format, selecting the best two teams for the final game. The champions of each event will receive a cash prize of VND150 million (US$6,450).
All matches offer free entrance and are broadcast live by Vinh Long Television.
According to Lu Quang Ngoi, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People’s Committee, the six-day tournament provides a good opportunity for the strong domestic teams to gain experience and hone their skills in preparation for the National Volleyball Championship, scheduled for the end of this year.
By hosting the event, Vinh Long province wants to promote friendship and international cooperation while boosting sport movements in the province and advertising its tourism potential to international friends.
