Upon its completion, the highway, in combination withHo Chi Minh City – Trung Luong and Truong Luong – My Thuan highways and My Thuan 2 Bridge, will form a complete highway system from Ho Chi Minh City to Can Tho, helping shorten travel times to only two hours from the previous four hours.
PM Phuc lauded the efforts of the Ministry of Transport and localities in their implementation of the project, noting that the project’s transformation from the BOT investment form to public investment will help to reduce the cost burden for the Mekong Delta region as well as reducing costs for agricultural exports.
