In order to prevent the COVID-19 epidemic, for most of the year 2020, Vietnam stopped welcoming international visitors, while domestic tourists also declined. With the above results, based on the forecast and assessment of the actual epidemic situation, Hanoi's tourism industry strives to welcome from 13.16 million to 19.04 million visitors in 2021. In which, domestic visitorsare expected to reach from 10.96 million to 15.34 million, an increase of 50-70% compared to 2020.

Hanoi has built many new tourism products and developed night tours. In addition, the city also strives to ensure safety for tourists, improve service quality, andbuild a safe and civilised tourism environment.

During the New Year holiday, localities across the country saw a large number of tourists.

Da Lat City, in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, saw the arrival of over 58,000 holiday-makers during the three first days of the new year, an increase of 44% compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, Sapa Town, in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai, and the south-central province of Binh Thuan received over 60,000 and 30,000 tourists, respectively, during the New Year holiday.
