He praised the delegation for their kindness and expressed his hope that they will continue with their charitable activity to ease the burden facing Vietnamese patients. He said the Vietnamese and US leaders have agreed to further boost co-operation between the two peoples, laying a stronger foundation to for the bilateral comprehensive partnership. Over 40,000 Vietnamese have been given free medicines while 5,000 amputees have been provided with prosthetic legs since 2009 via the programme. Members of the delegation said they would continue with their charity work in the Mekong Delta and the central region in the future.
