State President Quang met with Laotian leaders, laid a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier in the Laos capital of Vientiane before he met with Vietnamese investors in Laos and visited Champasak province.
Later the same day, State President Quang and his entourage left Vientiane for Champasak province. The state president listened to reports on the socio-economic situation and said that Champasak has great potential for tourism, mineral resources, agriculture and forestry. The province is home to over 3,000 Vietnamese while Vietnamese investment accounts for 51% of total foreign investment in Champasak, reaching more than 326 million US dollars. Quang suggested the province to continue creating favourable conditions for Vietnamese in the province and help those who suffered losses in the recent Huong Dao Market fires.
