Vietnam Airlines opened its first flight to Russia in 1993 with a stop to Dubai. By 2004, after getting Boeing 777 aircraft, direct non-stop flights between the two countries were officially operated to help the airline increase the number of passengers on the Hanoi-Moscow route by more than 10 times.
The Prime Minister proposed that Russian aviation authorities and Sheremetyevo Airport create the best conditions for Vietnam Airlines flights to strengthen the connection between the two countries.
