VTV.vn - In Duc Trong district, Lam Dong province, Buddhist establishments, mainly in the two communes of Ninh Gia and Phú Hội, are considered to boast auspicious dragon and phoenix terrain, creating a peaceful environment for those practicing and studying Buddhism.

In one particular village, there is an average of one worshiping place for every 40 people, with over 50% of the population practicing Buddhism at home.

Phap Van Pagoda was one of the first pagodas built in Duc Trong district. Established in 1968 by Venerable Thích Thiền Tâm, it is where the Buddhist Sangha of Đức Trọng District organises its annual grand ceremonies.

Venerable Thich Dao Thanh has been the Abbot since 2009, overseeing its renovation and expansion to 22,000 square metres. The temple features an outdoor statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, 12 metres in height and completed over half a century ago.

Ninh Gia commune has four pagodas, one meditation centre, and two monasteries. One of them, the Ngoc Nguyen Monastery, was constructed in 2001 and is still under completion.

In Phu Hoi commune are 25 licensed Buddhist establishments. One notable pagoda is Phuong Lien Tinh Xu, home to the majestic Tower of Vairocana, a unique seven-story pagoda atop a hill, dedicated to the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. The temple harmoniously blends Vietnamese, Chinese, and Tibetan architectural styles, featuring a towering statue of Avalokitesvara and various other sculptures and pagodas.

Like Da Lat, Duc Trong is blessed with a cool climate and dense pine forests. In addition to its magnificent landscapes and unique local specialties, the area is also an ideal destination for tourists and Buddhists seeking spiritual retreat. Visiting the peaceful "pagoda villages" along the Dai Ninh River, one’s heart feels lighter, more serene, and relieved of worry.
